After co-founding/owning/operating/instructing a very successful dance studio called "Pacific Dance Academy" for 18 years with my sister in Milwaukie Oregon, we sold it to a former student and I decided to pursue a career in the floral industry. I took floral design classes of all styles from top floral designers locally and across the country. I worked in a high-end floral shop designing large and small scale floral arrangements for "Club Sport", Teleflora and 1800flowers. I'm a graduate from "The Floral Design Institute" in Portland Oregon after completing course work in basic and advanced design. I decided to revive the "More & More Flowers" name in the Spring of 2006 and have designed for many happy clients since then. I've designed flowers for many weddings, beautiful table centerpieces for banquets and created beautiful, original and appropriate tributes for memorials and family members. I do have a current Oregon Floral Nursery License and earned my Wholesale Card for the "Portland Flower Market" and buying rights in Washington that allows me to purchase my flowers and supplies from reputable wholesale flower growers locally who sell exclusively to florist. This means that the flowers that I receive are the freshest and of the highest quality. They are guaranteed to me so that I can guarantee them to you. I can also purchase indoor plants and outdoor nursery plants for events, fundraiser's or as gifts. I attend floral design workshops and subscribe to industry magazines to keep up on the latest designs.
Along with designing flowers I also enjoy artistic roller skating (nationally ranked skater in dance and figures with Gold Medals in each), teaching tap/jazz/ballet/pointe/lpartnering/lyrical dance, performing in the "Portland Rose Festival's One More Time Around Again Band Dance Team", downhill and cross country skiing, Yoga, Tae Kwon Do (continue to rise up the belt levels as my body will permit) Tai chi, live music (lucky to have very talented friends) and hanging out with my family and friends. I have an associates degree in Medical Assisting "Phi Theta Kappa" and a degree in Theatrical Dance in which I was a member of many performing dance companies in the 80's. I'm happy to still be choreographing and teaching dance both in the local High School and in Private Studios. I also enjoy volunteering for the Oregon Food Bank when I get a chance and I'm a member of the Columbia Girl Scout Council as a co-leader for a Senior G.S. Troop. I've been honored with a "Doerhnebecher Childrens Hospital Hero Award" for helping to raise 10's of thousands of dollars for the hospital by designing and working the project of the "Street of Screams" at Halloween for many years. I'm also a very proud mom of 2.
